Property Accountant/Bookkeeper

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Property Accountant is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations within the accounting department.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform day to day processing of financial transactions to ensure that client accounts are credited and maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner

Main Activities: (Accounts Receivable)

  • Batch and enter high volume client cash receipts on to accounting system
  • Scan daily cash batches to client’s bank accounts
  • Process and review batch reports to ensure accuracy
  • Work with the bank to resolve any batch discrepancies
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries
  • Maintain up to date and accurate client database
  • Monitor client account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities

 

2. This position will also support other areas of accounting including Accounts Payable                                  and other duties as assigned.

 

3. This position has the potential for growth within the accounting department including monthly preparation of client financial statements, budget preparation and working with CPA’s on the annual audit and review processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in Accounting or associated field as well as 2 to 4 yrs. accounting experience in the real estate management industry.
