In 1987 two of the four shareholders of The Gilbert Companies Incorporated, Donald F. Thayer, Jr. and Douglas G. Thayer, Harry A. Gilbert’s grandson, established Thayer & Associates, Inc. as a successor to The Gilbert Companies Incorporated.
